Led by Clarke, Strength and Conditioning is a Priority at Noblesville

When Clarke came to Noblesville a decade ago after stints at Warren Central and Pike high schools, there just 87 student-athletes taking a strength and conditioning class in a smaller space. After a referendum passed to expand the facilities, he now leads six sections of 115 athletes each (that’s 690 Millers — boys and girls — working to get better). These are done prior to lunch to give athletes time to recover on contest days.

For many high school athletic performance coaches developing a high functioning “school day” course presents obstacles; such as student-athlete class schedule requirements, meeting state standards, developing a comprehensive curriculum, and juggling coaching philosophies amongst various school head coaches.  Consideration must be given to all factors and educating yourself on the “how’s and why’s” of these factors is non negotiable.

Coach Clarke is entering his 7th year at Noblesville High School. He is a native of the northwest side of Chicago and graduated from Butler University. In addition, Clarke is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is entering his 13th year as a head strength and conditioning coordinator. Coach Clarke came to Noblesville in the summer of 2008 after highly successful stops at Warren Central and Pike High School (combined 11 high school state championships with the most recent by Noblesville Miller Baseball 2014 4A State Champs). In addition, Coach Clarke was named a semi-finalist for the National High School Strength Coach of the Year in 2007 by, American Football Monthly.

Brian Clarke isn't your average gym teacher. 

Instead of playing kickball and soccer, his students are stretching their boundaries, mentally and physically. Coach Clarke, Noblesville High School's wellness and strength coordinator, is just the man to help them do it.
